She knows the harder version of the story too: Chilmund began as a trading entity and made the deliberate, risky decision to become a manufacturer, acquiring production capability through a technology-transfer partnership with China and building its quality standards hand-in-hand with the Standards Association of Zimbabwe. That journey from trading to manufacturing is the heart of what she teaches: how a business starts, how it grows, and how it survives the transition.
Her expertise spans business start-up, SME development, manufacturing, and business growth and continuity, with a particular focus on succession planning — building enterprises that outlive their founders. This is a published research area, not a passing interest: she has co-authored studies on the factors driving succession planning adoption among manufacturing SMEs in Harare Metropolitan Province, and on emotional intelligence and employee turnover in family-owned businesses, published in Futures and other public domains.
Her philanthropic work centers on girls’ empowerment and community development, and she is a passionate advocate for purpose-driven leadership. She is proud that Chilmund’s production is run by female engineers, with women holding strategic positions throughout the company — empowerment built into the operation rather than bolted on.
Dr. Aida is a devoted mother who values faith, family, and lasting legacy — core principles that shape her character, inform her leadership, and inspire her purpose in building lasting impact in business, church, and community.

She is a holder of an MBA from the University of South Wales (2017); MCIPS from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (2004) and is a past board member of CIPS Zimbabwe (2005- 2007).
Her quest to see women and youth succeed in the entrepreneurial space has seen her become founder and immediate past Chairperson for the Executive Board of Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) Zimbabwe Alumnae Association, an organisation that empowers women entrepreneurs through capacity building, partnerships, mentorship and advocacy for a conducive environment in which they can positively impact the economy.
